1. Introduction

This workshop-based course is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills in utilising Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools across various academic and professional domains. The course will provide a comprehensive understanding of AI's foundational concepts, explore popular AI platforms, delve into ethical considerations, and demonstrate practical applications in teaching, content creation, and academic administration. Through hands-on activities and interactive sessions, participants will develop proficiency in prompt engineering and learn about responsible AI usage, fostering an AI-resilient mindset for future challenges.

 2. Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the foundational concepts of AI and analyse its implications for education.

• Differentiate between various generative AI concepts and identify associated integrity challenges.

• Navigate and effectively utilise popular AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot in academic contexts.

• Apply prompt engineering techniques for effective and responsible AI usage.

• Identify and implement AI-resilient practices in curriculum and assessment design.

• Utilise AI tools for enhancing teaching methodologies, content creation, and visualisation.

• Leverage AI for student engagement, mentoring, and promoting well-being.

• Explore AI tools for improving academic administration and overall productivity.

• Recognise and discuss cross-sectoral AI applications including education, coding, creativity, and outreach.

• Understand institutional frameworks, academic integrity issues, and policy design related to AI integration.

• Analyse ethical AI usage, legal aspects, and consider faculty development needs concerning AI.
